Cris Albert, Fila Philippines CEO and owner, has passed away

The legacy of seasoned businesswoman Cris Albert? Grit, grace and confidence.

Fila Philippines CEO and owner Maricris Abad Santos Albert, also known as Cris Albert, has passed away. Her sister Ana Abad Santos announced her untimely passing in a Facebook post, appealing to the public for privacy and respect in their time of grieving.

For more than 15 years, Albert helmed the sports and streetwear brand Fila in the Philippines. She was an icon of women empowerment and entrepreneurial prowess, and she will continue to be through the inspiring legacy she has left.

In a 2020 interview with Lifestyle Asia, Albert mentioned that she always wanted to be in public service just like her great grandfather. As a woman of grit and passion, assuming the role of a CEO for an international brand was a worthwhile journey despite the many limitations and challenges.

Albert has championed the complicated agenda of a work-life balance, and she aced more than that amid a global pandemic. Being a seasoned woman in business, Albert is a reminder that family and home is where the heart will always be, and that knowing what you want—without losing that drive and focus—will get you anywhere.
