For Real, Though: The Realme 9 Pro+ Got to Capture What Went Down at The Get Down

It was smooth sailing to #CaptureTheLight at MEGAStyle’s latest event, thanks to Realme!

Yes Please turned into a time machine last July 25, 2022 as MEGAStyle effortlessly transported us all back to the years before the new millennium—the 90s, to be exact. Surrounded by a sea of the best hits, nostalgic toys and games, and a resurgence of old-school street style, there’s no doubt in our minds that MEGAStyle’s The Get Down will go down in history. It even became something worth throwing back to as realme was there to capture everything for us to remember. Perfect for low-light photography, the realme 9 Pro+ was the right futuristic gadget to bring as we travelled back in time.

Shorty, get down

Hosted by MEGAStyle’s own Mika Reyes, the event started out with an exciting welcome from Mika herself, who was then followed by Janine Recto, the Group Publisher of One MEGA Group. While Mika got everyone hyped up as The Get Down was about to begin, Janine shared that we were there not only to, according to her, “Come in the trends of those times, [but also to] appreciate the music,” which was met with the highest of standards thanks to the dance-worthy sets of After the Noon’s HOEST and ManilaJunkie.

A fun blast from the past

Some of the things that take us to the good ol’ days of the 90s are Polaroid cameras, colorful mirrors, and neon lights. With those three and more combined, the Watsons booth with Ponds and St. Ives welcomed everyone to take IG-worthy photos that prove we hopped on Marty McFly and Doc’s sweet ride back to the past. Besides, pics or it didn’t happen, right?

Meanwhile, it’s not a 90s-themed party without the right kind of games. Y.O.U Beauty’s little nook consisted of two arcade crane machines filled with their skin and makeup products that were just too cute to miss out on.

Oops! They did it again

The Get Down wouldn’t have been the walk down memory lane that it was if it weren’t for the stylish guests that embodied the true throwback energy through their ‘fits. From the classic denim on denim sported by Miss Nate and Kim Cruz, the chic tweed coordinates worn by Ashley Yap, to the fiery red with a touch of silver latex dress and thigh-high boots that Killa Kush was in, every outfit just screamed 90s. Even realme’s Life of the Party awardee Caitlyn Stave looked like she was more than ready to get down and jiggy with it in her adorable space buns.

Get real

After flying back from the past and into the present, we can easily confirm that The Get Down did happen thanks to the stunningly vibrant and vivid photos captured on realme’s 9 Pro+ that gave us pro-level photography with its 50MP Sony IMX766 OIS rear camera and 90Hz Super AMOLED Display. Making sure we get to leave the event with the best memories we can always look back on was made easy with how impeccable the phone was for low-light situations, which is the case for any party, even on a Monday night.
