Milan Fashion Week reiterates fashion as serious business in the city. Filipino creatives walk the streets of Milan donning their own style
Structure play with a side of flair is the overarching theme of Milan’s first Fashion Week of the year. The fashion houses showcased their Fall/Winter 2023 pieces with each maison’s personal language translated into their collection. With our Filipino culture rich in our own style lingua france, it is no surprise that our very own personalities graced the capitale della moda for a week of sartorial parade.
From models and personalities to multi-hyphenates, these Filipino creatives attended the different shows during Milan Fashion Week:
Heart Evangelista
No Filipino fashion representation is complete without one Miss Heart in the picture. As of writing, MEGA’s February cover woman has attended the shows of Fendi, Onitsuka Tiger, Moschino, Roberto Cavalli, Alberta Ferretti, Max Mara, and Prada. If there is one thing that Heart truly knows and loves, it is piecing articles of clothing together to achieve looks like no other. Case in point, her oversized ensemble for the Gucci show.
Tim Yap
The host-slash-eventologist attended Onitsuka Tiger’s show in a printed, navy track top and pants. Tim’s outfit carried much of the house’s history with founder Kihachiro Onitsuka’s symbol and sansevieria flowers, also known as tiger’s tail. Meanwhile, he also graced Moschino’s show in a modern grey Filipiniana suit complete with the butterfly sleeves.
Verniece Enciso
Verniece is indeed ready for more mature roles as she prepares for her upcoming wedding. Her growth also extends to her style as she donned a polished reiteration of her girly fashion sense in Onitsuka Tiger, Furla, Moschino, Fendi, and Gucci.
LA Aguinaldo
The digital creator towered his way into two Milan Fashion Week shows of the season with two shows—Onitsuka Tiger and Moschino. His outfit for the former was a blue track suit, representing the athleisure core of the label.
Camille Co
Assembled versatility is Camille’s eternal method of donning her outfits, and we could see that in her chosen fits. By now, we known that a put-together way of dressing up always thrives in Milan Fashion Week. Of course, the content creator mastered this as seen in her looks for all the shows she’s attending.
