7 Binibining Pilipinas 2023 Candidates With Standout Advocacies

With pageantry as a platform to begin change in society, these Binibining Pilipinas candidates are leading the way towards social responsibility

Being a queen takes more than just beauty and brains to reign with purpose. As our very own Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach said, “Confidently beautiful with a heart.” This heart should truly stem from a deep conviction for what each one stands for. With this in mind, the Binibining Pilipinas 2023 candidates are stepping up their goals towards responsible change for the country.

While all delegates carry their own advocacies into heart as they take on this journey, seven advocacies of Binibinibing Pilipinas candidates stood out. Why? Because what they are fighting for encompasses different sectors and needs of our society—from health, education, social justice, to peace. With that said, here are the delegates of Binibining Pilipinas 2023 and their insightful and relevant advocacies:

Elaiza Alzona

Pampanga’s Binibining Pilipinas representative this year firmly believes in supporting the rights of single parents. According to her Binibini profile, this support must be anchored on “technical and emotional sustainability through rights.” If you are wondering who inspired Elaiza’s deep concern for single parents, it is her strong mother above all her role models.

Paola Araño

The Batangas delegate advocates for education and awareness about blood donation. In one of her trips for Binibining Pilipinas, Paola paid a visit to the Batangas Chapter of the Philippine Red Cross for their future plans for her said advocacy. Besides discussing information on the different factors of blood donation, the delegate stressed out the importance of knowing them. “It is a great deal for us to know this so that when emergency cases arise, we have a community of blood type negative donors that we can grow together. [W]hen one is in need, we can simply tap on each other’s back,” she said on Instagram.

Kiaragiel Gregorio

Because of her career as a legal professional, Kiaragiel saw the reality of migrant workers, particularly Filipinos, who are victims of modern slavery. On Instagram, Cabanatuan’s representative shared her experience of meeting the members of the government responsible for taking action on her advocacy. Kiaragiel even emphasized the power of her influence as a beauty queen. Now, her goal as a Binibini is to help in advancing the rights of migrant workers through her skills and platform.

Trisha Martinez

Laguna’s Binibining Pilipinas bet focuses her advocacy in promoting oral health. As a dentist herself, Trisha understands the importance of taking care of the body part that we use to communicate our thoughts to others. Fueled by her profession, she is also a proud member of The Smile Initiative PH, a nonprofit organization focusing on the same advocacy Trisha is fighting for.

Zoë Santiago

The advocacy of the Binibini from Manila aims to promote peace and conflict resolution, but with a focus on children. Among all of the candidates’ exposure trips to different communities, Zoë highlighted their visit to Sta. Ana Hospital where she met kids and parents alike for Operation Smile’s program.

Sofia Galve

Rizal’s Binibining Pilipinas delegate forwards sustainable ecotourism and community building. As the CEO and co-founder of the eco-leisure campsite called Tagpuan Camp and Ecopark, she aims to invite tourists in discovering nature’s wonders without uprooting the locals in their homelands and by offering jobs to the local community members.

Lea Macapagal

Bataan is known as the home to a number of indigenous people in our country. As the province’s representative, Lea advocates for our IPs to have access to quality education, decent work, and rightful protection. In her recent visit to the Payangan Elementary School, the Binibining Pilipinas candidate distributed laptops to the community. This is to aid in the distance learning setup for the learners.
