It’s definitely an emotional time for every beauty queen as they slowly reach the end of their reign. A hard yet worthwhile journey was placed unto them ever since the crown was placed on their heads—a time in their lives that will forever hold a special place in their hearts.
This time around, another queen bids farewell to the crown as she gives the spot to the new Binibining Pilipinas International. Every reign ends with an elegant exit, and Nicole Borromeo displayed just that in a white and pink number for her farewell walk. Wearing a piece designed by Leo Almodal, the former beauty queen’s gown featured various textures and finishes, so we’re going to have to break it down bit by bit.

It’s only fitting to start at the most eye-catching part of the piece, which is the heavily embellished bodice. The bodice was a balance of dainty, as seen on the sweetheart neckline and delicate off-shoulder, and regality, which is presented through the crystals and rubies that slowly dispersed in a symmetrical pattern on the skirt.
To further elevate the dress, a rather huge train was added to the design. Feather-like appliques covered the whole train, but had various hues to add depth to the overall look. A white finish was seen from waist down to the first layer of the train, followed by a thin layer of beige. And lastly, pastel and bright pink was added to match the rubies on the bodice.
