Lox Valiente, Cryptocurrency
Meet Lox, a 27-year old crypto enthusiast who’s been raking in the dough through trading and investing in digital currencies. “I founded a collective called Manila Crypto Club,” he tells us. “Post-pandemic, we were the first to market a group that hosted face-to-face crypto meetups, specifically for developers, investors, venture capital funds, and even those in traditional finance to network and jumpstart the industry.” Lox recommends doing your research before diving into the world of crypto, but once you get the hang of it, it can be a lucrative way to earn a living.
Justinne Natividad, E-commerce
Justinne Natividad is the founder and CEO of Trinkets, and since their launch, she’s been killing it in the e-commerce game. “I started my own online store, selling fine and fashion jewelry, and it’s been a wild ride,” he says. “It’s definitely not easy, but the freedom to work from anywhere and be my own boss makes it all worth it.” Justinne emphasizes the importance of finding a niche that you’re passionate about, as well as utilizing social media to market your products and connect with customers.
Kate Reyes-Layag, Writing
If writing is more your thing, copywriting might be the perfect career for you. Just ask Kate, who’s currently employed with a publishing company while still being able to do freelance work on the side. “I love being able to write on different topics aside from my daily articles on sports,” she says. “It’s also really satisfying to see my words being used in different avenues.” Something to look for as a creative in a full-time job is an employer who allows you to hustle on the side.
Paulina Almira, Multimedia Artist
For those with a creative streak, multimedia arts could be the way to go. “I started making digital art and animations and posting them online, and it’s led to some amazing opportunities,” says Paulina. “I’ve worked on lots of commissioned work since landing an opportunity with Nike.” Paulina suggests building a strong social media presence and constantly creating and sharing your work to get noticed in the industry.
Bianca Ciriaco, Personal Assistant
Lastly, we have Bianca who’s been working as a personal assistant for an influencer in the Philippines. “I love being able to help people with tasks like scheduling, email management, and social media,” she tells us. “It’s also great to have the flexibility to work from home and set my own hours.” Bianca recommends finding an employer who you can identify yourself with, someone who also inspired you to better your craft.
