Noontime Shuffle: TVJ Goes to TV5 Its Showtime Airs on GTV

Here’s how we’re keeping up with the changes on TVJ’s new show, along with It’s Showtime’s gaining a new home

This week, TVJ trio Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey De Leon finally confirmed that they are bound to start a new chapter in their new home. In a media conference for TV5, TVJ, along with their co-hosts, announced their network transfer and the start of their new show.

As they signed their contracts with MediaQuest Holdings, the whole Dabarkads were welcomed with open arms by the network. From individual posters to their standees, they already feel the love and support from their new home. 

“It’s really a significant and consequential event from TV5. I welcome them to TV5. We look forward to a long and productive partnership with them. We wish them all the best,” TV5 Chairman Manny Pangilinan told MEGA Entertainment Editor MJ Marfori.

Meanwhile, TVJ’s co-hosts also expressed their feelings towards the big change. “Bago na naman ‘yung performance namin, bagong bahay. Pero kami-kami pa rin ‘to. May bago tayong gagawin,” Allan K said. The younger host, Raizza Mae Dizon, added, “Sobrang excited [kami] sa mga mangyayari kaya sana abangan ng mga legit Dabarkads!” In a separate interview, Wally Bayola pointed out to Marfori the reason behind their mass resignation: “Ang loyalty namin, [nasa] TVJ na.” 

Discussing further the so-called competition between ABS-CBN’s noontime show It’s Showtime, Jose Manalo addressed the issue once and for all. “Hindi naman pilit pinapantayan, pero syempre, ‘yun ‘yung time din nila. Walang kompetensiyang nangyayari sa amin. Basta masaya lang. ‘Yun lang importante.”

In a statement released by ABS-CBN, they announced that It’s Showtime will finally air on GMA’s GTV during its regular noontime slot. After respectfully declining a later show schedule at TV5, It’s Showtime will also air on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, and Kapamilya Online Live.
