Julia and Alden’s chemistry is hitting our theaters soon, and this sneak peek is proof we’re in for a wild romance
Both making a cinematic comeback after a long hiatus, Julia Montes and Alden Richards return with a bang in their first project together, Five Break-ups and a Romance.
Since the announcement of their partnership, the two have been mum on the film while simultaneously working on their respective projects. However, last weekend, director Antoinette Jadaone finally gave the fans what they’ve been waiting for—a clip of the two main leads in their movie with director Irene Emma Villamor.

“[A]nd just had to share this part! Gulat me,” Jadaone wrote in her caption, inserting high five and surprised emojis. In the 16-second clip, the characters seemed to be entangled in a complicated love affair involving a hidden agenda. What gave it away? The actress asking a loaded question on Alden’s agenda, the latter giving a knowing smile, and the clip of the two sharing a passionate kiss. Exploring modern love in its complex sides, Five Break-ups and a Romance will attempt to answer the question, “How many times will you try for love?”
In their press conference back in April, the stars shared that they already hit it off even just after two shooting days. “First [day] pa lang, comfortable na kami. Pinakita ko lang ‘yung tunay na ako. Kwentuhan tapos comfortable lang. ‘Yun ang na-appreciate ko. Nakita ko talaga siya kung paano siya in real life,” the actress said about the GMA actor. Meanwhile, Richards also had good things to say about Montes. “Isa sa na-appereciate ko kay Julia is ‘yung tapang niya. She’s a really brave woman. Parang ‘This is me.’ She’s very genuine, [and] binigyan din niya ako ng worth in that way.”
