After its Hollywood premiere, A Very Good Girl hits a new milestone not just for the film but also for Philippine cinema
The movie’s a murderer, because A Very Good Girl is killing it! Star Cinema officially announced that as of October 10, the film, starring Kathryn Bernardo and Dolly De Leon, has reached its PHP 100 million local gross sales on its third week in cinemas nationwide. It is the first motion picture to reach the given figure as of this year.

In an Instagram post, the Asia’s Superstar shared her joy with the good news. “You have no idea how much this gives us hope for the Philippine cinema. Thank you so much for all your love and support!” the actress wrote in her caption. She is currently back in the Philippines after back-to-back promotions with Dolly De Leon. A Very Good Girl is the first film to receive such a gross result this year.
For its 30th anniversary, Star Cinema leveled up the promotion of the film. The cast took on a number of challenges, including a round up of their fan theories, food challenges, and even a prank on their co-star Jake Ejercito. Since its Philippine premiere, the movie is also currently showing in Canada, United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain. As of today, the motion picture is now showing in KSA, with Saipan following suit the day after.
Since its showing, Kathryn’s own fan bases as well as KathNiel fan groups held their respective block screenings besides Star Magic’s. Philo and Molly made an appearance at the organized screening of KathNiel KaDreamers World, KDKN Solidarity & Affiliates, KathTropa, KCMB Barkada, KB Global, DJP Armies, KB Buddies, KDKN Solidarity TFC, KathNiel Spikers, KN Fairies. Kathryn’s actress-friend, Alora Sasam, also held her own block screening to express her support for the film.
