At the Terme di Diocleziano, Bvlgari celebrated its 140th anniversary and latest high jewelry collection, Bvlgari Aeterna, with “aeterna” being the Latin word for “eternal”. Over 500 masterworks including High Jewelry and High Jewelry Watches, High-End Bags, and Very High-End Fragrances were displayed, fantasizing inspired designs in a perpetual artistic reinterpretation through colorful history.

Among the highlights was the notable Serpenti Aeterna Necklace. Crafted over 2,800 hours, this necklace features seven D diamond drops, totaling 140 carats—each carat symbolizing a year of Bvlgari’s illustrious history. These gems are embraced by a three-dimensional platinum wave, adorned with 698 baguette diamonds, adding another 61.81 carats of brilliance. The necklace pays tribute to the Bvlgari Serpenti, first originating within the Maison in 1948, and now serves as a consistent insignia in their collections and pieces.
In a nod to the year of the dragon, Bvlgari introduced the Serpenti Misteriosi Dragone high jewelry secret watch. This piece melds the iconic image of the Bvlgari snake with the dragon, adhering to history’s enduring legacy and the promise of the future. Completed in over 960 hours, the accessory is a timepiece of innovation. It features 32 carats of precious stones, a tubolari bracelet, a snake head adorned with baguette-cut diamonds, and the intricate Piccolissimo watch movement. This piece also pays homage to Elizabeth Taylor’s snake-shaped Bvlgari watch from 1962.
Drawing inspiration from the phoenix, an emblem of eternal rebirth, the Fenice High Jewelry Watch dazzles in its construction. This horological wonder features an array of blue, pink, and purple sapphires, amethysts, rubies, pink garnets, tanzanites, iolites, aquamarines, and diamonds, totaling over 160 carats. Requiring over 3,000 hours to complete, the watch is crowned with a rare 9.78-carat Parabia tourmaline at its center. The phoenix motif signifies renewal and bears tribute to the Roman Empire, where haloed phoenixes represent the emperor on ancient coins.
Moreover, in true innovative spirit, Bvlgari introduced the Digital Passport, a digital record that secures the unique characteristics and certificates of each High Jewelry creation on the Aura private blockchain.
