The eve of Halloween summoned Manila’s fiercest, freakiest, and most fabulous for this year’s Shake, Rattle, and Ball. Hosted by renowned eventologist Tim Yap, the evening presented CIRQUE—a gathering of legends, freaks, icons, and everything in between. Guests plunged into twisted fantasies and revisited celebrity classics, turning everyday faces and figures into a freaky display of what a mastery of cosmetics, tresses, and body art can achieve. There were skulls, clowns, and extra-terrestrial bodies—truly a freak show that left no room for subtlety. Here, MEGA rounds up the night’s best in Halloween beauty.

Renz Pangilinan as Mad Hatter
What’s a party of legends, icons, and freaks without its honorary president—the Mad Hatter? Renz Pangilinan showed up to the occasion as the fabled trickster of Wonderland, sporting his classic ginger hair, porcelain white face, and playful streaks of blue and purple that added to the mischief. Not to forget his top hat, which took a monochromatic route, decked out in feathers and soft tulle. It was classic yet chaotic, just like the Hatter himself.
Jane de Leon as a Jester
Jane De Leon went from saving the world as Darna to stealing the show as a jester. It’s evident that her circus-themed ensemble grabbed the attention from the get-go, but her beauty look was equally enchanting—subtle yet full of statement. She kept her base clean, had light brown eyes, naturally feathered brows, a glossy nude lip, and warm contours around her eyes to bring depth. Adding to the whimsy, her light ginger hair was as bouncy as it could be under the bulky hat, tying into her jester persona. All in all, she made trading in a cape for a clown hat look fabulous.
Lareeze Galvez as a Somber Clown
Lareeze Galvez brought out the beauty in the blues as she turned up as a sad clown. Her face was painted white and her eyes were framed by dramatic black lines—above were sadly arched brows, while below were tear-streaked cheeks—embodying the haunting charm of the tragic jester. Her long black locks were tied into bubble pigtails, adding a playful touch to her eerie look. It was part tragic and part chic—but who’s making the rules?
Cess Tan as Billy the Puppet
Cess Tan has always been a doll, but this time, not the kind that poses for shoots or graces fashion shows, but the kind that sends shivers down your spine. She was Jigsaw’s puppet—in all its chilling glory. She sported the doll’s signature pale skin and bloodshot irises but traded in the usual red-painted swirls on her cheeks with glimmering crimson beads. It was a twisted twist on beauty.
Mia Antonio as Marilyn Monroe
The evening wasn’t all about the eerie and the macabre, but it definitely abounded in icons—and there’s virtually no one more iconic than the ultimate blonde bombshell. Mia Antonio channeled her inner Marilyn, and she had all the essentials: signature curls, that ever-famous beauty mark, and a sultry red lip. Among the peculiar, it was a great reminder that some icons will forever be relevant.
Skye Chua as an Angel
In a sky of legends and icons, Skye Chua descended as an angel—literally. She posed as a Victoria’s Secret Angel complete with fluffy wings and a feathered ensemble. Her beauty beat was equally heavenly—light gray contacts, sleek winged liner, and eyes that sparkled to the heavens. How she blended in with the rest of the freak show? It’s a secret not even Victoria knows.
Kensuke as a Skeleton
Kensuke went for a skeletal theme for the evening, bringing the darker side of legends, icons, and freaks to life—all the way down to the bone. His look paid homage to the Day of the Dead, sporting hollowed-out eyes and jawlines in in sharp black and white, as well as jet-black streaked hair with ghostly white. He was an oldie but a goodie, an icon that refuses to rest.
Eugene Reggio as a Vintage Tattooed Strongman
Model Eugene Reggio took us back to the carnival days of old-school ink, channeling a vintage tattooed strongman from the days of great tattooist Percy Waters and Lydia, the Tattooed Lady. His torso was fully on display and adorned in intricate tattoos, embodying the unfiltered essence of these early tattoo pioneers. Even without much on, the ink did the talking.
Francine Garcia as Heart Evangelista
When it came to inspiration, Francine Garcia didn’t look too far; she found it in Heart Evangelista. Channeling the fashion icon during her vow renewal in Balesin, she wore an Elie Saab-inspired gown, complete with feathered lashes, a luscious nude lip, and a face as chiseled as Heart’s. As she put it, “This year, the Shake, Rattle, and Ball theme is ‘Legends, Freaks, and Icons.’ So bakit pa tayo lalayo? [I’m going] as the Philippines’ Global Fashion Icon!”
There were no rules for this year’s Shake, Rattle, and Ball. Some looked frightening, while others delightful. Yet, at its core, beauty was the bravest accessory of all.
