Nine years after her reign, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach remains committed as an HIV-AIDS advocate. At this year’s Love Gala, she auctioned off her Miss Universe memorabilia for her cause
The advocacy of Pia Wurtzbach runs deep beyond her Miss Universe reign. Even after she was crowned Miss Universe in 2015, the beauty queen remained grounded in her mission and dedicated herself as an HIV/AIDS awareness advocate. In 2017, UNAIDS appointed Wurztbach as the UNAIDS Goodwill Ambassador for Asia and the Pacific to do her part in HIV education and to discourage discrimination against people living with HIV. Nine years after her reign, she remained true to her word, even partnered with the non-government organization LoveYourself, Inc. to spread her agenda of bringing attention to HIV/AIDS issues. In this year’s Love Gala, Wurtzbach—as the event’s ambassador—married her fashion career and passion for philanthropy by letting go of her Miss Universe memorabilia through an auction.

All the proceeds from the auction will be directed to the construction of a Youth Center in Taguig, which will provide HIV/AIDS support, mental health services, reproductive health care, and a safe space for the youth. Fortunately, the beauty queen’s auction is not limited to the guests of Love Gala; anyone is free to contribute to Pia’s cause by taking a look at her beloved items.
A Francis Libiran Dress Made of Pineapple Fibers
This pineapple-fibered creation from the designer was exclusively made for the beauty queen herself. After she was crowned Miss Universe 2015, Pia wore this piece in a photoshoot along with her beautiful tiara.
Albert Andrada’s Only Replica of the Winning Gown
At the time, the evening gown wasn’t a decision made by the candidate until Pia Wurtzbach made history with the bold color choice. While this isn’t the exact gown Pia Wurtzbach wore when she was crowned, this piece is the designer’s first recreation. With this, Andrada offers the new owner an opportunity for customization.
The Original Michael Cinco Gown From the Last Walk as Miss Universe 2015
As the only replica of the gown was donated to Pia’s wax statue in Madame Tussauds’ Hong Kong, the beauty queen has decided to put her ethereal gown for auction. This iconic piece was worn during the turnover of her title and crown in the Miss Universe 2016.
A Sherry Hill Fringe Dress and Silver Chinese Laundry Shoes
This fringe dress and her silver Chinese laundry shoes were personally chosen by Pia Wurtzbach herself in the 2015 opening. With this being her first ensemble to represent the Philippines when she stepped on the Miss Universe stage, the Sherri Hill number and silver heels have become vital pieces in the beauty queen’s journey.
A Vibrant Red Swimsuit
While this bikini didn’t grace the stage, the beauty queen wore this bright red two-piece in an official Miss Universe photoshoot. Pia posed next to first-runnerup Miss Universe Colombia Ariadna Gutiérrez Arévalo, who was mistakenly announced as the winner that year.
The Finals Night Swimsuit and Nude Chinese Laundry Shoes
Handpicked by the beauty queen herself for its supportive and secure design, Pia Wurtzbach walked the runway in this two-piece bikini and nude Chinese laundry shoes in the Miss Universe finals night. This ensemble was etched into history for the beauty queen, as her careful choices eventually led her to the crown.
