The Christmas season always brings about the most heartwarming stories. Whether or not it revolves around a family, a couple, or even strangers, it’s almost automatic that we shed a tear to at least one heartfelt tale during the holidays. To kick off the festivities in the beauty industry, we were graced with a very touching video from YOU Beauty that featured four characters sharing what they want to receive this season. But much to their surprise, Christmas has come early this year as their wishes have already come true.

“No unsolicited comments about my body or love life from my titas.” “I just want to be my complete self around my dad.” “I wouldn’t mind having some ‘me time.’” “I just want to make [my girlfriend] feel happy ‘cause she deserves it.” Four different characters, four different wishes—this was how the heartwarming video began. And while it doesn’t come as a shock that one way or another, we can totally relate, what happened next was what tugged our heartstrings.
Less than 30 seconds into the video, each character was surprised by their loved one—a father, an aunt, a sister, and a significant other, giving them a chance to finally express what they have been wanting to say for a while now. Seeing it all happen just in time for the holiday season may have caused a tear or two to run down our cheeks, but those tears were definitely out of pure joy, relief, and maybe a little bit of envy—in a good way! There were also some “awws” here and there, with a few sniffles throughout the rest of the video as we tried to keep it together—and no, it wasn’t exactly easy.
Hearing about someone being wholeheartedly accepted by a family member for who they are is already one of life’s greatest moments, but being able to actually witness it is another level in itself—even though this video consisted of different actors playing roles. And for another one to finally be told that their relative would refrain themselves from making unnecessary comments about whatever it is that may or may not be happening in that person’s life? We could only wish that we would experience the same thing, especially this Christmas where family reunions are right around the corner.
These are the types of stories that aren’t completely unorthodox, but still beautiful to hear because they’re not exactly a day-to-day occurrence. And this holiday season, YOU Beauty is instilling in us that there’s love, hope, and beauty in this modern world if we let our loved ones shine as they wish—wholeheartedly and without anyone, including us, getting in the way.
