Making waves in the international film industry, it was only fitting for Dolly De Leon to wear a dress that looked like the waves of the ocean
The Filipino actress has been making a mark in the international film industry as she’s been going around the globe for appearances in several film affairs for her outstanding role in Triangle of Sadness. And though the movie was released last year, people are still applauding her supporting role as Abigail, making Dolly De Leon raise the standards and elevate Filipino talent in the world of film.

Her attendance at this year’s BAFTAs is also due to her history-making recognition as the first Filipino actor to be nominated, making it an addition to the line of accolades she has already received for her involvement in the film. And in true Dolly De Leon fashion, the actress arrived at the red carpet looking stunning as ever in her custom Rajo Laurel number.
Designed by Laurel and styled by LJ Perez, the piece is titled Alon, which means wave in Filipino. The dress reflects how the Filipino actress continues to make waves in the film industry, so it’s only fitting for her to arrive in such a stunning and meaningful piece.
The unique silhouette holds a simple white body-hugging dress embellished with few rhinestones underneath, while the mesh draping was formed into an exaggerated S-shape figure. A dusty silver finish adorned the mesh, but it had an elegant shine to it once the light hit the fabric.
And just like the waves of the sea, her piece had movement to it despite the stiff fabric. It was a play in texture and technique as Rajo Laurel imitated the waves through intricate folds. Meanwhile, the shine of the fabric made it seem like the dress had a graceful flow under the light.
