ArteFino Sees Beyond the Trade

At the very core of ArteFino is a foundation supporting local artisan communities

An integral part of any venture one pursues is their purpose. It’s the driving force behind all decisions to the future of the company, and a community thrives even more when there is an underlying aspiration everyone shares. We see this in up-and-coming artists to small businesses as they persevere through the ups and downs of making their own mark in their respective industries. But for ArteFino, their purpose goes beyond the present with a social impact in mind.

Ever since their launch back in 2017, ArteFino has been actively uplifting their community and fellow artisans through various means—an effort we’ve been seeing more so than ever when they made their comeback to the outside world in 2022. And as they commence their Resort-inspired four-day pop-up, we revisit the reason behind the inception of ArteFino’s trade fair.

Shopping with a purpose—this is the very concept behind the trade fair, but the pillars that make it thrive are community, purpose, and circularity. It’s a sentiment that the founders have agreed on since the beginning of ArteFino. As it grew over the years, a development program also grew alongside it, which is called the HeArteFino Foundation.

What was initially a platform for creating long-term partnerships with local communities, HeArteFino became an outlet that aims to have a social impact. Founder Cedie Vargas shared, “When we partner with communities or makers, our aim is to empower them to run sustainable businesses. Our collaborations run for several years so that we establish long term relationships and create real impact.”

Raising awareness and providing a space for artisans in the Philippines is at the heart of HeArteFino. One of their long-time partners is Zarah Juan when they became the first grantee of the foundation and their shared support towards the Bagobo Tagbanwa Community in Mindanao. The partnership became a manifestation of their goal as both Zarah Juan and the Bagobo Tagbanwa Community paved the way for other artisans in the region to put their craft in the contemporary lifestyle category.

Both founders and brand partners have an outstanding line of alliances with the local artisans community over the years, and we see this as ArteFino continues to expand their space that showcases new artists and brands.

It’s definitely an inspiring movement that has been making waves as they carry on with new themes every year that can accommodate new designers from fashion, beauty, to lifestyle. And as they prepare for this year’s trade fair, ArteFino embraced the lively spirit of summer in their four-day pop up held at the North Court of the Power Plant Mall from March 23-26—definitely a must-visit before you run off to your summer getaway.
