Many would say this isn’t the first time Julia Barretto replaced Bea Alonzo in a love story
Definitely booked and busy this year, Julia Barretto has another film project on the works. Viva Inc. President and CEO Vincent del Rosario III announced last Friday that the actress will star alongside Alden Richards for the film Special Memory. The said movie is an adaptation of the South Korean film called A Moment to Remember.

Julia’s role was previously for Bea Alonzo until the actress decided to let go of the project. According to the actress’ side, she already had a full schedule. Besides Special Memory, Vic del Rosario also revealed that Julia will also have a movie with Aga Muhlach called Forgetting. So far, both Viva and GMA have yet to disclose further details on the said project. Meanwhile, Special Memory will begin its production by the end of July or August. According to del Rosario, Nuel Naval will direct the film.
While details are on pause for Julia Barretto’s next two movies, she is currently promoting her upcoming movie Will You Be My Ex? with actor Diego Loyzaga. Julia plays the role of Chris who gets into a messy relationship with Diego’s character, who is her ex. The film will show on June 21, 2023.
Since joining Viva, Julia Barretto has starred in different films and series with her last movie being Expensive Candy, her most mature role to date. In an exclusive interview with Boy Abunda, Julia’s previous on and off screen partner, Joshua Garcia, shared that he wants to reunite with the actress in a project pitched to him. Fans have speculated that this might be It’s Okay Not to be Okay, the Philippine adaptation of the Korean series with the same name.
