G22 Opens MEGA Ball 2024 with an Ode to Pinoy Pride

P-Pop girl group G22 served looks and vocals in the 14th edition of the MEGA Ball

The 2024 MEGA Ball: Fashion + Food showcased an amalgamation of talents from the fashion, food, and music industry for the evening. Gracing the ballroom alongside the nation’s male group SB19 was up-and-coming girl group G22 who opened the Independence Day celebration with a rendition of “Pinoy Ako” by Orange and Lemons.

Esteemed guests dressed to the nines began their night of culinary experience at the Shangri-La The Fort Ballroom with the harmonies of AJ, Alfea, and Jaz giving the Pinoy Big Brother theme song a slower version.

The homegrown female alphas translated their edgy and bold style for their formal black and white ensembles, staying true to the ball’s dress code. Stylist Eldzs Mejia cohesively captured the girls’ distinct personalities despite having three different designers dress them. “What I like about them is they have different personalities, so we made sure that their personalities are still there even if there’s a theme for the outfits,” Mejia shares.

Leader and main rapper AJ, staying true to her androgynous fashion, sported an all-white Anthony Ramirez pantsuit and fedora hat. Meanwhile, main vocalist Jaz, known for her princess style, wore a white two-piece AJ Javier number with a voluminous peplum skirt and black sheer gloves. Completing the trio was Alfea, the visual, whose edgy and feminine style manifested through the Lauren Vito slitted ball skirt accentuating the black embellished dress.

The “One Sided Love” idols are known for their fierce and swag concept, as well as their catchy songs about youth and relationships. Last night, they made their MEGA Ball debut serenading the esteemed guests and served vocal prowess to the stage.

G22 first debuted in February 2022 with their pop single “BANG!” under Cornerstone Entertainment.
